MAIN FEATURES
  GENERAL MACHINE CONCEPT
FI-X Pull-Up is the Fameccanica adult pants converting machine, thought, designed and realized to produce the most comfortable products.
“Cross-direction” manufacturing process based upon consolidated Fameccanica technology and knowledge.
Cost-effective manufacturing through reduced downtime and raw material consumption optimization, thanks to a neat design for easy&fast size change and accurate webs and elastic handling systems.
Innovative solutions are in use to manufacture a complex product with a reliable and user-friendly process.
“Full servo technology”: each process unit is independently driven as well as each material feeding and transport system so that machine set-up and format change operations are easier and each process step can be quickly adapted when different materials are used or operating conditions change.
“Full modularity”: the machine is modularly designed so that it can be accurately configured for the specific product structure agreed. Future upgrades are easier as the upgrading kits can be easily plugged to the existing configuration.
“Easy installation and start-up”: thanks to the high integration of utilities inside modules, it is possible to achieve the best results even in terms of quick installation at the Customer’s plant and future relocations become easier.
  RAW MATERIAL FEEDING
The machine is equipped with enhanced raw material feeding systems to guarantee the best web stability: off-line unwinders with brushless servomotor driven expanding spindles, tension control system and web accumulation systems for automatic “Controlled-Speed splicing” with “cut&splice” devices. Splicing boxes with “easy web preparation system”, available upon request.
Special off-line unwinders are used for wider materials (e.g. inner/outer nonwoven backsheet) and all feature web accumulation system for “Zero-Speed” splicing at full machine speed. Special devices for easy web preparation are employed.
The cross-wise position of materials is constantly controlled through electronic web tracking and self-alignment equipment.
Additional tension control devices, with brushless servomotor equipment, guarantee the best web tension control and allow reduced tension in case of accurate application of delicate materials.
Automatic thread spools unwinding system with an accurate tension control on each individual thread, thus allowing for quality improvement of final products and cost reduction. Better line efficiency thanks to the employment of Knot splicing system.
  ABSORBENT CORE FORMING
The machine is equipped with an extremely efficient absorbent core forming system allowing for effective fluff + S.A.P. blend application. Capability to process continuos or discrete absorbent cores either with or without tissue
MODE DIP Mill
(new 2008 released version with enhanced performances) for highly efficient fiberization of any kind of treated or untreated pulp with low power consumption; special hardening system for fiberizing teeth; servo-driven double infeed system for pulp web advancing and automatic splicing capability, suitable for on-line mixing of two different pulps.
The rotary drum forming allows for the manufacturing of contoured, flat or longitudinally and/or cross-wise profiled pads and is suitable for “ultra-thin” absorbent core formation.
Multistream” forming capability allowing for different absorbent core designs.
The machine can be equipped with one or more mills according to the amount of fluff pulp needed.
  PROCESS UNITS
State-of-the-art process units are utilized to guarantee the effectiveness of each step of the manufacturing process. Each of them include the most advanced features needed for the specific application.
Laser cutting technology specifically developed by Fameccanica is available as option on this machine for the leg-shaping process, thus providing high flexibility during operations, lower overall costs, easier management of size change and high investment pay-back.
Final edge sealing process available either with ultrasonic or thermomechanical (Fameccanica patent pending) technology.
  DRIVE TRAIN AND MOTION CONTROL
First class brushless servomotors and digital drivers are employed and accurately networked to make each process unit run synchronized at any time.
  LOGIC CONTROL OF MACHINE FUNCTIONS
Machine Functional Control is supplied by a powerful PLC with distributed I/O allowing for the easiest implementation of retrofitting modules.
Programmable Limit Switch integrated into the PLC for an accurate management of electronic phasing (glue application, etc..)
“Touch-screen” control panel, for centralized management of all machine operation phases (start-up, shut-down, changeover).
Different versions of display are available (alphanumeric or ideograms), for operation messages on machine running mode, downtime and automatically rejected products.
  QUALITY CONTROL
Quality control system with raw material presence and/or application control and automatic rejection of defective products, to guarantee top-quality production targets.
Visual web inspection system available.
  PRODUCTION DATA SUPERVISION
New Fameccanica DATAMATE system is available and integrated in the converter operator panel, for the collection, storage and analysis of production data (production, scraps and downtime).
Additional functions for specific requirements are available with Fameccanica Datamate “Plus”: an advanced version allowing also for the monitoring of raw material consumption and for multi-shift statistical analysis.
  AIR FILTRATION
A wide range of specific equipment can be installed for process air filtration (self cleaning rotary filters, dry sacs systems, equipment for connection to centralized plant filtering systems, etc.).
  SAFETY
According to final destination, the machine can be designed in compliance to local safety regulations (CE for European Countries, and UL or CSA for North American Countries, etc.).
Solid, see-through, highly accessible and almost totally “sound-proof” safety guards.
Different kinds of jib hoists are available, including special types designed for easy and safe semi-automatic reel-handling from the pallet to the machine.
The whole machine has been designed keeping in mind operators' safety. Continuous improvements are accomplished thanks to dedicated internal audits.
