FEATURES |

“Full servo technology”:
each process unit is independently driven as well
as each material feeding and transport system so
that machine set-up and format change operations
are easier and each process step can be
quickly adapted when different materials are used
or operating conditions change. “Full
modularity”: the machine is modularly
designed so that it can be accurately configured
for the specific product structure agreed. Future
upgrades are easier as the upgrading kits
can be easily plugged to the existing configuration.
“Easy installation and start-up”:
thanks to the high integration of utilities inside
modules, it is possible to achieve the best results
even in terms of quick installation
at the Customer’s plant and future
relocations become easier. |

This machine is equipped with
enhanced raw material feeding systems to guarantee
the best web stability: off-line
unwinders with brushless servomotor driven expanding
spindles, tension control systems, web accumulation
for “Zero-Speed” cut&splice
at full machine speed.
The cross-wise position of materials is constantly
controlled through electronic web tracking
and self-alignment equipment. Additional
tension control devices, with brushless
servomotor equipment, guarantee the best web tension
control and allow reduced tension in case of accurate
application of delicate materials.
All web-type materials feature automatic
splicing. Several solutions
are available for the feeding of materials like
elastic bands, elasticized ear-tapes, tape tabs,
frontal tape (on-line assembly capability or use
of pre-assembled materials, standard or high diameter
reel, etc.). |

The machine is equipped with the
new Fameccanica Su.Per.Form. Module,
the Superior Performance Forming Module specifically
designed for “ultra-thin”
absorbent core formation, high ratios SAP/Fluff,
high pad integrity, maximum pad weight accuracy.
MODE DIP Mill (Fameccanica.Data
patented technology) for highly efficient fiberization
of any kind of treated or untreated pulp with low
power consumption; servo-driven double infeed
system for pulp web advancing and automatic
splicing capability, suitable for on-line
mixing of two different pulps.
The rotary drum forming allows for the manufacturing
of contoured, flat or longitudinally and/or cross-wise
profiled pads and is suitable for “ultra-thin”
absorbent core formation. “Multistream”
forming capability allowing different absorbent
core designs and for effective S.A.P. (Super-Absorbent
Polymer) blend applications.
Different feeding systems available for airlaid
absorbent core, designed to handle material
supplied in all the different forms offered by the
market (reels, festoons). |

Fameccanica-design process
guarantee the effectiveness and the accuracy of
each step of the manufacturing process at the
high production speed performed.
Each of them include the most advanced features
needed for the specific application and
for long life of the components. According to the
specific units, typical characteristics are: temperature
control (heating or chilling) systems, fine adjustment
systems, re-phasing systems, integrated lubrication
systems, torque limiters and devices for easy disconnection.
Specific table hoist available for easy
loading and unloading of complete leg shaping
unit for fast size change-over. BEST
Technology: elastic back ears without trim (Fameccanica
patent pending) 
BEST is an advanced, smart, technology
for the cutting and placing of shaped back ears
that will allow converters to save hundreds of thousands
dollars per year, through the most efficient use
of very expensive materials.
With BEST asymmetric shaped elastic ears can be
produced without trim, thus allowing for the manufacturing
of an added value product with substantial cost
saving and outstanding investment pay-back.
New process units have been developed to guarantee
a high speed performance and process reliability.
Moreover, special solutions are in use to guarantee
high flexibility and easy format change through
the introduction of new specifically designed, electronically
controlled process units, thus allowing operators
carrying out the main size change operations via
software panel. |

the machine can be designed in compliance to local
safety regulations (CE for European
Countries, and UL or CSA
for North American Countries, etc.).
The whole machine has been designed keeping in mind
operators' safety. Continuous improvements are accomplished
thanks to dedicated internal audits.
Safety guards with safety switches and security
locks are installed.
Different kinds of jib hoists are available, including
special types designed for easy and safe semi-automatic
reel-handling from the pallet to the machine. |
