MAIN FEATURES
  GENERAL MACHINE CONCEPT
FI-U Premium is Fameccanica answer to the market request for High-Speed machines for rectangular absorbent pads like bed hospital underpads, pet disposable pads and baby changing pads.
“Full servo technology”: each process unit is independently driven as well as each material feeding and transport system so that machine set-up and format change operations are easier and each process step can be quickly adapted when different materials are used or operating conditions change.
“Full modularity”: the machine is modularly designed so that it can be accurately configured for the specific product structure agreed. Future upgrades are easier as the upgrading kits can be easily plugged to the existing configuration.
“Easy installation and start-up”: thanks to the high integration of utilities inside modules, it is possible to achieve the best results even in terms of quick installation at the Customer’s plant and future relocations become easier.
Solid, see-through, highly accessible and almost totally “sound-proof” safety guards.
  RAW MATERIAL FEEDING
The machine is equipped with off-line unwinders with brushless servomotor driven expanding spindles that are specifically designed for wide materials. All unwinders feature web accumulation systems for “Zero-Speed” splicing at full machine speed. Special devices for easy web preparation are employed.
The cross-wise position of the product structure materials is constantly controlled through electronic web tracking and self-alignment equipment.
Additional tension control devices, with brushless servomotor equipment, guarantee the best web tension control along the whole web flow and allow for reduced tension in case of accurate application of delicate materials.
  ABSORBENT CORE FORMING
The machine is equipped with an extremely efficient absorbent core forming system allowing for effective fluff + S.A.P. blend application. As this machine is targeted to the manufacturing of a wide range of product types, this forming system has been designed to achieve extremely homogeneous forming even when very low core base weights are needed: tests conducted on our Customers’ machines showed underpads ranging from a very low-cost 36 g/m2 to over 150 g/m2 and over. Higher values can be achieved, if needed.
An efficient solution is given to make the size change operations easier, as the forming drum system is installed on a independent sliding frame and operators have maximum access to all parts.
MODE DIP Mill (Fameccanica.Data patented technology) for highly efficient fiberization with low power consumption; double infeed system with brushless servomotors for cellulose pulp web advancing and automatic splicing capability.
Mill is integrated so that the fiberized pulp is immediately conveyed to the rotary drum forming. The machine can be equipped with one or more mills according to the amount of fluff pulp needed.
  PROCESS UNITS
State-of-the-art process units are utilized to guarantee the effectiveness of each step of the manufacturing process. Each of them include the most advanced features needed for the specific application and for long life of the components.
Size-change operations are quick and effective as most of them are executed via control panel.
  DRIVE TRAIN AND MOTION CONTROL
First class brushless servomotors and digital drivers are employed and accurately networked to make each process unit run synchronized at any time.
  LOGIC CONTROL OF MACHINE FUNCTIONS
Machine Functional Control is supplied by a powerful PLC with distributed I/O allowing for the easiest implementation of retrofitting modules.
Programmable Limit Switch for an accurate management of electronic phasing (glue application, etc.).
“Touch-screen” control panel, for centralized management of all machine operation phases (start-up, shut-down, changeover).
Alpha numerical display of operation messages on machine running mode, downtime and automatically rejected products.
  QUALITY CONTROL
Quality control system with raw material presence and/or application control and automatic rejection of defective products, to guarantee top-quality production targets.

  PRODUCTION DATA SUPERVISION
Product data management system is available on industrial PC platform with Microsoft Windows interface. This system, specifically designed by Fameccanica, allows for the effective collection, storage and analysis of production data (production, scraps and downtime, Pareto charts). It is suitable for connection to any current network for remote technical assistance.
  AIR FILTRATION
A wide range of specific equipment can be installed for process air filtration (self cleaning rotary filters, dry sacs systems, equipment for connection to centralized plant filtering systems, etc.).
  SAFETY
According to final destination, the machine can be designed in compliance to local safety regulations (CE for European Countries, and UL or CSA for North American Countries, etc.).
