MAIN FEATURES
  GENERAL MACHINE CONCEPT
Cross-direction” manufacturing process.
Full servo technology”: each process unit is independently driven as well as each material feeding and transport system so that machine set-up and format change operations are easier and each process step can be quickly adapted when different materials are used or operating conditions change.
Full modularity”: the machine is modularly designed so that it can be accurately configured for the specific product structure agreed. Future upgrades are easier as the upgrading kits can be easily plugged to the existing configuration.
Easy installation and start-up”: thanks to the high integration of utilities inside modules, it is possible to achieve the best results even in terms of quick installation at the Customer’s plant and future relocations become easier.
  PRODUCT STRUCTURE
Special attention has been paid to modularity to easily customize the machine for different structures.
The machine can be also be equipped to manufacture product versions for refastenable pull-up diapers (specific Fameccanica patent pending version) or can be prearranged for the future installation of the upgrade kit.
A wide range of product dimensions can be manufactured: from the baby pull-up pants to the smaller sizes of adult pull-up pants on the same machine.
  RAW MATERIAL FEEDING
The machine is equipped with unwinders with motorized expanding spindles (one motor per reel), tension control with dancers, web accumulation systems and automatic “cut&splice” systems.
The cross-wise position of the product structure materials is constantly controlled through electronic web tracking and self-alignment equipment.
Additional tension control devices, guarantee the best web tension control along the whole web flow and allow for reduced tension in case of accurate application of delicate materials.
  ABSORBENT CORE FORMING
MODE DIP Mill (Fameccanica.Data patented technology) for highly efficient fiberization of pulp with low power consumption; special hardening system for fiberizing teeth; double infeed system for pulp web advancing and automatic splicing capability, even suitable for on-line mixing of two different pulps.
The rotary drum forming allows for the manufacturing of contoured, flat or longitudinally and/or cross-wise profiled pads.
Multistream” forming capability allows different absorbent core designs and effective S.A.P. blend applications.
The machine can be integrated, as an option, with the new Fameccanica Su.Per.Form. Module, the Superior Performance Forming Module specifically designed for “ultra-thin” absorbent core formation, high ratios SAP/Fluff, high pad integrity, maximum pad weight accuracy.
  PROCESS UNITS
State-of-the-art process units are utilized to guarantee the effectiveness of each step of the manufacturing process. Each of them include the most advanced features needed for the specific application and for long life of the components.
A thoroughly tested Turn&Repitch Unit is employed. This unit has been optimized to guarantee the best performances and the lower time for change-over operations. In addition, the dimensions of the Insert Pad and of the Product Width can be optimized so that change-over impacts on the Turn&Repitch unit are minimized.
The machine can be equipped with different systems for the product edges sealing: sealing process can be thermo-mechanical or ultrasonic according to the production speed requested and product specifications required.
FAMECCANICA LASER CUTTING TECHNOLOGY
The FAMECCANICA LASER CUTTING TECHNOLOGY is a proven turn-key solution specifically developed by Fameccanica for the purpose of cutting and shaping disposable articles such as lady sanitary napkins, panty shields, baby diapers and training pants, adult diapers and adult pull-up pants.

  DRIVE TRAIN AND MOTION CONTROL
First class brushless servomotors and digital drivers are employed and accurately networked to make each process unit run synchronized at any time.

Machine Functional Control is supplied by a powerful PLC with distributed I/O allowing for the easiest implementation of retrofitting modules.
Programmable Limit Switch for an accurate management of electronic phasing (glue application, etc.).
“Touch-screen” control panel, for centralized management of all machine operation phases (start-up, shut-down, changeover).
Alpha numerical display of operation messages on machine running mode, downtime and automatically rejected products.
