The FAMECCANICA LASER CUTTING TECHNOLOGY is a proven turn-key solution specifically developed by Fameccanica for the purpose of cutting and shaping disposable articles such as lady sanitary napkins, panty shields, baby diapers and training pants, adult diapers and adult pull-up pants. The system provides:

It was effected with professional, enthusiastic and highly skilled teams that successfully addressed, step by step, all the challenges arising from this promising technology.
  APPLICATION RANGE
The FAMECCANICA LASER CUTTING TECHNOLOGY is targeted to work and has been tested with a very wide range of commercial raw materials and layering structures. The system successfully cuts also section edges with different layering structures/thicknesses/density. Accurate tests have demonstrated this system to be capable of providing outstanding edge profile cutting, good tactile perception with no perceivable changes in raw material appearance. The FAMECCANICA LASER CUTTING TECHNOLOGY has been proven in a wide range of manufacturing speeds, including high-speed operations (i.e. higher than 400 m/min). The uniqueness of FAMECCANICA LASER CUTTING TECHNOLOGY is clearly recognized as it provides full and precise laser rays running to the desired complex cutting profile at high web speed and obviously also during speed transitions.
  SYSTEM CONFIGURATION

A typical configuration includes:
- Laser generator (typically one two-beams unit)
- Optical beam ducts
- Scanners
- Cutting area outfit
- Special safety guard system with double safety switch
- Power control cabinet
- Operation interface display
- Cooling system
- Gas reservoirs
- Process fumes suction and filtration system
The system is controlled by a special Fameccanica proprietary hardware and software control that has been specifically developed for the purpose of disposable articles cutting. It provides for:
- Easy operator interface
- Static and dynamic programming capability for real time profile format changes and CD-MD profile stretching
- Generation of new cutting profiles directly from CAD drawings
- Full control of laser rays among the entire profile
- Profiles and recipes archiving
- Total communication control among manufacturing machine, scanners, laser generator, etc.
- Remote Technical Assistance Capability enabling for Fameccanica direct support

  TYPICAL SPACE REQUIREMENTS FOR INSTALLATIONS
Space requirements for machine-frame-mounted components:
- same as per standard Rotary Die Cutting units
Additional floor space typically required in the proximity of the line (given for reference only):
- Laser generator: 1200 x 1200 mm
- Refrigerator: 1700 x 800 mm
  REQUIRED SKILL FOR MANAGING THE SYSTEM
Production lines equipped with FAMECCANICA LASER CUTTING TECHNOLOGY can be operated by the same crew working on current manufacturing lines with proper knowledge of mechanics, electronics, pneumatics and machine logic control programming systems. A special training for operation and maintenance ot the Laser Cutting Technology will be provided by Fameccanica as part of the supply.
  SAFETY
CE/UL/CSA compliant according to final destination. The complete manufacturing system (machine including FAMECCANICA LASER CUTTING TECHNOLOGY) is Class 1 rated by official certification entity.
No need of specific behaviours on top of the usual ones requested for standard manufacturing lines in this sector. No burning danger even in the case where the laser rays may be accidentally directed towards the cellulosic product elements.
